Obituary - Deborah Ann Paterson

Ms. Deborah Ann Paterson died peacefully at home
early on the morning of Monday May 4th 2026 from
complications of 35 years of Type 1 Diabetes
insulin dependence and congestive heart failure.
Debbie was the cherished nanny of Sophia Almadlouh-Paterson.

Debbie was born in Ottawa on Wednesday Feburary 19th 1964 to happy young parents
Donald Roy Paterson and Beverley Ann Paterson (neé Fetterly),
followed 4 years later by younger brother Stephen Donald Paterson;
supported by Donald's second wife Leah "Lorraine" Paterson (neé Benoit).

Debbie was blessed with the birth of happy daughter Crystal "Chrissy" Ann Paterson in 1985.

As an Child and Youth Worker Educational Assistant, Debbie improved the
lives of many teenage students, and brightened the faces of numerous teachers at
Brookfield highschool in Ottawa and at Earl of March highschool in Kanata;
especially dear friend Jonathan David "Dave" Waterhouse whom recently passed away on
Tuesday April 21st 2026.

Debbie met her partner John Philip Hunt on canada day Thursday July 1st 1993.
Chrissy inspired the gift of tiny daughter Sophia Ann Almadlouh-Paterson in 2016;

Deb was supported and loved with open arms by father-in-law James "Jay" Philip Hunt
and with open heart by mother-in-law Karen Rose McKay.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Debbie at 12:00pm
on Saturday June 27th 2026 [11:00am for family only]
at Capital Cemetary on 3700 Prince of Wales Dr Ottawa,
followed by a quaint public service in the Chapel at 2:00pm,
then an outdoor interment shortly thereafter,
socializing until around 5:00pm EDT.
